The Big Draw Festival
Everyone an artist, Everyone a scientist
Date: 01-02 Oct / 11-3 pm
Location: Nottingham Castle Museum & Art Gallery

"
This years Big Draw Festival was themed around Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths. It was a great event for everyone to get involved in and attempted to give everyone participating the freedom to allow their creativity to run wild. In the centre of the Gallery, there was a long table covered with a piece of white paper where you are able to draw whatever you want through your creativity and imagination. It showed that don’t need to doubt themselves whether they can draw or not, it’s all about creative interpretation of each individual without a right or wrong outcome. Every drawing tells a story and I think it’s such a fantastic place for people to develop their creativity and relieve the pressure without age limitation.
Maybe you can take inspiration from this event and work with lots of different artists to create your own “Big Draw” piece of artwork.

Le Chien Et Moi
Le Chien Et Moi, which means 'Dog and I", is a fantastic vintage homeware shop in the city centre of Nottingham. Not only can you hope to meet the owners in the store but they often take their very cute dog to work with them too (if that doesn’t make you want to visit I don’t know what will!) The shop is filled with many dramatic antiques from all over the world, including Europe, America, Japan and more. As well as the excitement of around the world antiques there is also local Nottingham work stocked in the store. The products are all well selected, collected and even also created by the owner of the shop.
If you are starting on your project or want inspiration from antiques and furniture here is a great place to visit. Why not go and see what they have got and even pick yourself up a little trinket that catches your eye.

Leonardo Da Vinci Exhibition
When we visited the Nottingham castle Museum we were excited from all the paintings that existed there and all the historic spots on offer. Nottingham Castle Museum was displaying ten of the finest drawings by Leonardo Da Vinci from the Royal Collection. He made only around 20 paintings during his lifetime, including the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper. The works had been selected to show the extraordinary scope of the artist's interests, from painting and sculpture to engineering, zoology, botany, mapmaking and anatomy, as well as his use of different media – pen and ink, red and black chalks, watercolour and metal point. I believe that Leonardo's drawings are the richest, most wide-ranging, most technically brilliant, and most endlessly fascinating of any artist.
Having such a world renowned artists work on display here in Nottingham was a real privilege to get to see and i would encourage you all to take a trip to see the work before the end of the exhibition.

This exhibition ‘It’s too soon to say’ is prize winning collection of contemporary paintings. The main topic in this exhibition are consequences of the French Revolution. The most creative thing is the displaying of stories which are put in cabinets. The wooden cabinets with glass fronts evoke a feeling of mystery as if you are looking into another world. MOULD MAP 6 — TERRAFORMERS

Location: Bonington Gallery, Nottingham Trent University
Date: Sat 17 Sep 2016 - Fri 21 Oct 2016
When entering Bonington Gallery, you can see that most of the art works were based on comics. Although I’m not a big fan of comics, I still found the exhibition to be interesting. Some of the designers combined new comics into daily life style. My favorite piece of work is the table tennis table. I noticed that people in Nottingham love playing table tennis so much and one of the designers put the comics on the table tennis table and that just caught my eye. Another piece of work I found attractive is the one with some polaroid’s arranged on table the irregularly around a limo. I imagine that’s the universe and the limo and polaroid’s are floating inside. People who enjoy reading comics definitely need to have a look at Bonington Gallery during whilst this exhibition is on.
